Tourism Marketing Consultants in Canary Islands

VMAR turismo has assembled a highly qualified team able to bring its knowledge and experience of the hotel trade to the table. Boasting a range of different perspectives from both the commercial and marketing worlds, the company is able to offer the very best in commercialisation services.

Ricardo Martínez Marrero has more than 25 years’ experience in the commercial management of various hotel chains in both Spain and America. The brunt of his know-how comes from his time with Barceló, where he held numerous different posts over a period of 20 years until finally becoming the Commercial Managing Director for America and, subsequently, for the entire chain. His value to the company led to him being appointed to the Board. He was entrusted with the task of unifying European and American commercial departments, as well as positioning the company in new American destinations, ranging from Uruguay to Canada, and taking in Venezuela, Nicaragua and Costa Rica on the way.

After his stint with Barceló, he sat on the Board of Directors of IFA Hotel & Touristik for three and a half years, a German chain with a strong presence in the Canary Islands, Central Europe and the Dominican Republic, the latter being a destination in which he managed a frenetic process of expansion.

2007 saw him make a return to his unification skills, as he spearheaded a project to merge the commercial areas of IFA Hotels and Lopesan Hotels & Resorts.

Bernardo Raja Rodríguez has always been in charge of tasks related to contact with clients and this experience has led him to earn jobs with chains such as Barceló Hotels & Resorts, IFA Hotels and Lopesan Hotels & Resorts. During his time with the Barceló Hotels & Resorts team, he helped organise Workshops and Fairs and lent his assistance to the commercial and marketing initiatives for Hoteles Barceló América Latina. He was likewise Head of Sales for Europe over a period of six years.

In 2005, he took over the mantle of Commercial Manager for America with IFA Hotels & Resorts, and was responsible for commercialising products and services in American and European markets, defining the different marketing activities required to introduce the IFA Hotels trade name into the Caribbean, and coordinating and collaborating on the Group’s expansion projects.

Following the merging of IFA Hotels and Lopesan Hotels and Resorts departments, he was appointed Commercial Manager for America, Germany, Austria and Italy in 2007, and went on to hold this post until he made the move to VMAR turismo.

Elvira del Toro Benítez boasts extensive experience in both commerce and management. This is clearly demonstrated by her appointment as Commercial Manager for the Canary Islands of IFA Hotels, during which time she was responsible for 3000 tourism units. Over several years, she coordinated the tasks of procurement, promotion and sales.

Following the unification of IFA Hotels and Lopesan Hotels & Resorts departments, she was appointed Commercial Manager for Lopesan Hotel Group in 2007, during which time she was entrusted with 9000 accommodation beds, and collaborated on commercialising 2 Wellness centres and the Meloneras Golf course. She also coordinated the process of merging the various departments of the two chains, including all the ensuing proceedings, such as restructuring human resources and divisions.

Anne Stückrath has carried out her commercial activity together with innovative projects within the hotel management world. From the coordination of Groups & Incentives at hotelbeds, including the commercial department of Barceló Hotels & Resorts as Head of Sales, she took over the e-Business department of BarceloRes, as well as online accounts contracting (B2B).

Within the field of new technologies for the Internet, in 2006 she joined IFA Hotels & Resorts as e-Business Commercial Director, and a little later, after the merger of IFA Hotels and Lopesan Hotels & Resorts, she accepted the same position within the Lopesan Hotel Group, where she created the e-Business Department, the only one of its kind in the Canaries, to coordinate the marketing of the Group’s hotels through the corporate web site, which was also set up under her management in 2007. She also took charge of contracting and distribution by means of other electronic channels like the Call Centre and through the German tour operator (IFA Reisevermittlung).
